The Siena College Chorus and Musicians of Ma’alwyck premiered new Mass for the New Jerusalem for chorus and string quartet at the Chapel at Carondelet Hospitality Center in Loudonville, NY under the direction of Tim Reno. Thanks to all the musicians for their excellent performance!
A Song for Peace
A Song for Peace is a short, processional-style piece for chorus and African djembe drum. Designed as an opening song for a concert, the piece follows a call-and-response pattern out of African marching songs to call the audience and singers together, contrasted with gentle, European-style polyphony in the call for peace. Texts in Swahili and Tagalog – two beautiful-for-singing languages – complete the sense of international unity.
