Trade Winds

Trade Winds is a single-movement piece for a large concert choir and a small African-themed percussion ensemble. The text is an original poem by acclaimed poet Lisa Pegram and is written in a "cleave" form that allows it to be read in several different ways. The cleave is ideal for a four-part choir, and the piece takes full advantage of the form. The text itself is a beautiful affirmation of the earth and the connections that bind all people together.

Appropriate for large chorus of at least 50+ singers. Five percussionists are called for playing on a variety of Western and non-Western percussion. The percussion parts themselves range from amateur to experienced. This download comes on a zip file that contains three versions of the score (one full score, one optimized score, and one choral score) along with five percussion parts.
