String Quartet no. 2 is my Mt. Everest piece. This is a very difficult – but eminently playable – quartet in four movements over about 20 minutes. It will challenge any quartet on all levels: ensemble, rhythm, timbre, and technique. It is currently unperformed…which is a shame. It was my doctoral dissertation, and I honestly feel this is my best work to date.
Appropriate for a very tightly knit quartet. This will take practice and coordination, but a great performance is waiting in this score. A MIDI realization is available on request.
