Choral Music

I grew up steeped in the British and American choral traditions – developing a deep love for both high church and Appalachian folk music – and absorbed my first compositional chops at a young age from my choirmaster Richard Wayne Dirksen. My own music combines the long, soaring lines of great cathedral music with the rhythmic subtlety and passion of American traditions. I am most drawn to passionate but introverted texts that explore the innermost thoughts and struggles each of us share.
